Etchings

Etchings are prints pulled from metal plates modified by acid to create linear runnels and textured valleys meant to trap ink which will be transferred to wetted paper pressed against it by the roller and blankets of a printing press. Different wipes, inks, and inking techniques produce variations of the plates' images.
