Early Surreal Structures

My early paintings in Brooklyn often do not make sense in a conventional way. The images are based on impressions and memories. Perspective and proportion aren't bound to reality and shapes exist halfway between representation and non-objectivity. Framing devices may take the form of an illusionist painted frame and words sometimes grace the surface with little regard for the correctness of the pictorial space.
