Oil Painting on Aluminum

All paintings presented on these pages are executed on "flashing:" Aluminum plates measuring 5" x 7" normally used by roofers to bend around corners so as to seal edges between surfaces meeting at an angle. This reflective surface imparts a slightly translucency to the oil paint. Some edges of shapes intentionally reveal the shiny aluminum surface.
